The Sierra Canyon Film Festival continually strives to improve upon the previous year’s festival.  The 2014 festival was our most successful to date.  For the first time, our evening program included a guest speaker: Jon Turtletaub, an entertainment industry professional with 30 years of experience, director of the National Treasure films, Sorcerer’s Apprentice, and Last Vegas.  Mr. Turtletaub spoke briefly about his experience in the industry before the screening and also met with the filmmakers during the reception to offer them career insight and advice.

Additionally, the 2014 festival was the first to include an international short film: Best in Fest winner Hogar/Hogar, written and directed by Barcelona based student filmmaker Carlos Alonso.  The program included four live action shorts, three animated films, a documentary short, and, for the first time, a film produced by Sierra Canyon middle school students.

In 2015, we are expecting our most diverse submission pool yet.  We will again feature another prominent guest speaker and an exciting program of student short films.
